"NFS server not responding" solved with smaller wsize, rsize

Hi!

Just something I found out:
On an old J200 with HP-UX 9.07 I NFS mounted a filesystem from an L2000 with HP-UX 11i and Gbit LAN connection.
Accessing some files over that NFS mount produced the message "NFS server not responding".
After some quick research, I tried using wsize=1024,rsize=1024 as options in /etc/checklist, and then the problems went away!

I haven't done any in-depth research on the root cause of the problem. I just want to share the solution.

Cheers,
Bo

Thanks for sharing this solution with the community, Bo. This type of interaction is one of the things that make this a great forum. And though this was a 9.07, many NFS issues can be solved by taking a look at Dave Olker's NFS Performance Tuning guide located here: http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/1435/NFSPerformanceTuninginHP-UX11.0and11iSystems.pdf
