"ulimit -a" output

where can I find the output explaination of "ulimit -a"? I need it imperatively.

ulimit is part of the shell. You can try the Shells User guide available from http://docs.hp.com if you want some further information.

Under HPUX the different shells have different
commands ( limit and ulimit ).

My notes on this are as follows:
----------------------------------------------
limit | ulimit
To view or set a process's limits.

ulimit -a S|H - to see all current soft or hard limits
If you set down a hard limit you cannot move it up again.

HP> csh% limit
limit coredumpsize 9000
see man csh

HP> sh% ulimit -a
ulimit -[S|H]c 9000
-n openfiles
-s stack
-t time
-v virt mem

see man sh-posix
