SolutionIs this an NFS mounted filesystem?. You may have to use the -o quota option while mounting the nfs filesystem to enable quota for the filesystem.
There is a problem reported to hp. "JAGaf12506". The fix is in the patch "PHNE_30378" for 11.11. The patch has since been superceded. HP recommended patch in that category is "PHNE_30380". The latest patch in that category is "PHNE_30661".
Hope this helps.

Re: Quota commnad at hpux11i - no result
The fix for automounter has been done in patch "PHNE_22878" for 11.11.
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000073906689
The itrc doc id is 8606160808.
The patch mentioned in my previous post should fix this problem.
Hope this helps.

Re: Quota commnad at hpux11i - no result
the patch will fix the automountd binary and the man pages.
You'll have to use the -quota option in the /etc/auto.master to allow quota to be enabled for the automounted filesystems.
Try this,
cat /etc/auto.master
# local mount point map name mount options
/home /etc/auto_home -quota
Hope this helps.

Re: Quota commnad at hpux11i - no result
Here is my auto_master file:
/n -hosts -soft,proto=udp,timeo=40,retrans=6,
rsize=8192,wsize=8192
How does i add the -quota option to this line ?
