RAID 1 Configuration and OS Installation Guidance for RX7640 HPUX Host
Hi Team,
Our customer is using an RX7640 HPUX host. Unfortunately, all four hard disks recently failed, and we have now replaced them with four new hard disks.
We have already downloaded the two ISO files for the HP-UX 11i v2 OS and intend to create a new RAID 1 array and proceed with the OS installation on the RX7640 host.
However, we have encountered issues when attempting to create the RAID 1 volume. Despite following the standard process by pressing F8 and then ESC 8 during boot, the RAID configuration consistently fails.
We are reaching out to seek assistance from the HPE community. If there is a document, guide, or procedure available for configuring RAID 1 and installing HP-UX 11i v2 on the RX7640, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with us.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards,
janaka Perera

I've never seen one, so I know nothing, but...

Were you prompted to do that?

"fails" _how_, exactly? What, exactly, happens?
What kind of disk adapter is installed in this system?

Do you have only the built-in "LSI Logic SAS Controller", or some
kind of "Smart Array controller", or what?
I believe that F8 (or Esc
If you have only the built-in "LSI Logic SAS Controller", then I believe
that you need to find the "CFGGEN Utility", which might be on one of the
installation discs, possibly at some place like:
fsX:\EFI\HP\TOOLS\IO_CARDS\SAS>
where "fsX" is your optical drive. There might also exist an "HP IPF
Offline Diagnostic and Utilities CD" which might include CFGGEN.
I have an "HP Integrity rx2660 Server User Service Guide" which
describes the CFGGEN utility. (Web search?) A similar manual for the
rx7640 might include similar info.
