rc scripts in HPUX

This is just a clarification

In all the startup scripts there can be four option start_msg,start,stop_msg,stop.

say we have a script "appstart" in runlevel 2 dir and it implements all the options.

While booting what is the sequence of calls?

will the rc scrip call:

appsatrt start_msg first and than
appstart start

Is it same for all startup scripts in HPUX ?
