rdist on B.11.11 U
When I run rdist the box I want to update gives an error rcmd: remotehostname: Unknown host
.rhosts has + in it. host file is good. when I cd/net/remotehostname connects fine. Anyother places to look at?
Not a UNIX expert
Thanks,
Phil

New installation which has never worked? Old
installation which did work but has broken?
Is there more than one version of rdist, do
you think? More than one source of an rdist
source/executable kit? Or do you think that
"rdist" uniquely describes what you're using?
Or what you're doing with it?
What, exactly, did you tell rdist to do?

Re: rdist on B.11.11 U
1. does server resolve remote hosts id ??
2. /etc/host entry proper on both servers ?
3. /.rhosts entry are correct ??
4. what is the name resolution sequence defined in /etc/nsswitch.conf ???
