Re-create VGs
One of our server has lost two disks. So all VGs allocated to these disks are not mounting. lvmtab shows all disks sans these two disks. Now we want to remove all current VGs shown in lvmtab (except root disks) and entire disk space in the server make available and want to recreate all VGs with the space left in the server after two disks lost. How we can do this? Suggestions/Steps required.

Hi,
do you want to throw away the data on the other disks as well?
If so vgexport will remove the VGs.

Note: vgexport does NOT erase data.
The recovery path does depend on whether you care about the data. Depending on how many disks failed, the data may not be recoverable.
If you merely want to recreate and then restore the data from backups, here is your document:
