Re: Re : Upgrading os from 10.20 to 11.00

Hi Vincent:

Whatever you do, cold-install. An "upgrade" from 10.20 to 11.0 is virtually guaranteed to fail. A cold-installation is the only safe, clean path. If you have EISA cards, they are only supported for 32-bit versions of 11.0.

The 11.0 installation documentation and/or a Google search of this forum using keywords like "10.20, 11.0, upgrade, install", etc. should provide ample reference to start.

Regards!

I have done several upgrades, so I don't agree with the reinstall option, but this is another discussion.

You find the upgrading manuals at

http://www.docs.hp.com/en/oshpux10.x.html#Installing%20and%20Updating

and

Shalom Vincent,

Upgrade:

Always a bad idea.

11.00 is almost out of suport. The R390 can run 11i. Do a cold install of that if your applications support it.
