Reboot Fails after Lan Failover.
We are having a Single node cluster on 11.0. We were testing the Service Guard for LAN Failover and in the process we pulled off lan1 and it failed to lan4 but when i put the lan1 back it is not going back. Also when i reboot the machine comes up on the console but no network is available. Any thoughts on how to approach this issue? I have tried to start the box w/o SG but still the same result.
Cheers
Joe.

Re: Reboot Fails after Lan Failover.
What cards are you using?
what version of SG, and have you patched it?
When you say no network available, what errors/indications do you have of this?

Re: Reboot Fails after Lan Failover.
Did you get any error message at the rc.log files? what happens if you trying to start the network manually? Is the cable and connections okay? check the outputs of the following commands:
# lanscan
# netstat -ins
Shiju

Re: Reboot Fails after Lan Failover.
The box is Nclass. Cables are fine. The cards are 100B/T. The box has got the march 2002 patch level. We have setup the cluster ascii file in the following order. lan1,heartbeat and then lan4. lan3, heartbeat and then lan5. when we were testing yesterday when we pulled lan 3 it went to lan4 instead of lan5 but w/o lan4 it goes to lan5. Finally after lot of testing we had the lan4 pulled but it did not go to lan1 and the reboot also failed.
Thanks
Joe.

Re: Reboot Fails after Lan Failover.
how do you have configured the lan cards in service guard and in netconf file?
Are you able to submit your netconf and cmclconf.ascii file?
regards Dirk

Re: Reboot Fails after Lan Failover.
I suggest you also run the cmscancl command and post the /tmp/scancl.out file here

Re: Reboot Fails after Lan Failover.
The SG version is A.11.13. I searched using
swlist -l patch and
swlist -l fileset|grep PH*|grep < >(all mcsg stuff
But i was not able to find any service guard patches. I will have to go to the console to get the cmscancl. Is there anything wrong with the version and the patch?
Thanks
Joe.
