Hi SN:

You may need to provide more information:

1) At what point it hangs ?
2) Any hardware error codes ?
3) Type of system and OS?
4) Recent changes made ? .....etc

Re: Reboot hang

Does it hang on its way down and never reboot, or does it hang on its way back up after the reboot?

Have you try booting in single user mode. To do this interrupt the boot process and at prompt type ???boot pri??? then interact with ipl ???y???, then type "hpux ???is". Also at what point is hanging?

Hope this helps.

Re: Reboot hang

Hi whoeveryouare ;-)

First let me assume your server is HP-UX.

1. When the server reboots stop the boot process.
(c) Copyright. Hewlett-Packard Company. 1994.
All rights reserved.

PDC ROM rev. 130.0
32 MB of memory configured and tested.

Selecting a system to boot.
To stop selection process, press and hold the ESCAPE key...

Then in the main menu key in
search command. This will search for your boot disk.

2. Second when you are able to see the boot disk run the following command
ISL> hpux

3. If does not work then do
ISL> hpux vmunix.old

Hope this helps.
