Rebuild IO instances by removing /stand/ioconfig and /etc/ioconfig

We regularly move bootdisks and cards. As such, we often have to deal with stale device instances or device instances with numbers that are through the roof.

What I usually employ so my devices are renumbered as if it were a fresh install - is to boot LVM maintenance mode. Fix my vg00 (if LVM) and simply remove ioconfig from /stand and /etc and reboot. Basically what is described and officially supported in the following:

http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000078882068

And since we use VxVM, device name changes will not be a problem. Well just have to contend with rootdisk (LVM) and APA configurations (lan device instances).

Any thoughts if ye are also doing the same? We do a lot of environment moves (via actually transporting the OS disk) and hardware re-orgs.
