recover to diffrent size disk

Hi,
I have made the system disk backups using the COPYUTIL program found on the HP-UX Diagnostics/IPR Media CD. Can I recover the backup from tape to new bigger disk or should the disk size be identical?
The workstation is HP9000/C100 and the system disk ST32430WD.

COPYUTIL copies data sector by sector. So logically the target should be same size/model. Not tried! What Os is running? Think of having a ignite instead of COPYUTIL.

The OS is version 10.20.
