recovery of all volume groups

hi there, we have recently recovered a server using ignite 3.7.95. Out of 5 volume groups, vg00 & vg01 were recovered. The missing vg's were recreated. How do i include all system vg's in an ignite make_tape_recovery backup?

Re: recovery of all volume groups

By default all volume groups would get backed up. What options did you use?

generally ignite backups are used to backup vg00 and the remainder either using another backup command or suite like omniback depending on the size of the system. Perhaps you ran out of tape ?

Re: recovery of all volume groups

Tina,

As a general rule, Ignite is used strictly for vg00 and conventional backup methods for the rest of your data. You can, however, include other volume groups with the "-x inc_entire=vg02 -x inc_entire=vg03" syntax.

Michael, The command/options used were as follows;

/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -AIv -a /dev/rmt/0m
