Solutionmake_tape_recvoery -AV -x inc_entire=vg00
make_recovery is obsolete.
2.) there have been improvements in Ignite/UX. go to software.hp.com and get a fresh copy.
3.) Ignite is not a complete recovery strategy. it will not be able to properly backup open databases like oracle. You need to have the databases shut down and use fbackup or use a tool like data protector or veritas or rman to get good backups into another format.

Re: Recovery option
And so, It don't protect OS's availability from a user's mistake. For example, In accident, a user executes rm command.
I heard the above case many times.
So, I recommand dd or make_tape_recovery for OS recovery.
I think OS disk mirroring is less useful than dd command because User's mistake happens more than disk fault.
I am sorry writing english is bad.
Good day~~ .

Re: Recovery option
1.Building a image of your system on a tape using make_tape_recovery.
2.Archiving the image on the network.make_net_recovery is used for that.
check for the white paper at /opt/ignite/share/doc
