Re: reflection X for HP-UX 11.0

you need installed the CDE runtime fileset : available on core O/S cd as part of the
HPUXEng64RT B.11.00.01 English HP-UX 64-bit Runtime Environment

Other than that, on the hpux system ensure the following process is running : /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin : nb started from /sbin/rc3.d/dtlogin.rc

That's it, the rest is configurable on the PC / RX s/w.

You can install the fileset(s) using swinstall.

Re: reflection X for HP-UX 11.0

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x reinstall=false -s /full_path_of_cd_or_depot \*

The command line above avoids reinstallation of dangerous patches. Should not be a problem.

If the OS is installed, you should not have to do anything to activate CDE.

There is a configuration file or two to look at:

/etc/rc.config.d/cde
/etc/rc.config.d/desktop

My desktop file says:
DESKTOP=CDE

From one of my old support calls:
EDIT: /etc/rc.config.d/xfs
Set the following variable: "RUN_X_FONT_SERVER=1"
EXECUTE: /sbin/init.d/xfs start

Font server needs to be running for Hummingbird to work.

I am running that setup on two servers here, so I can confirm it can be done.
