Reflection x password management
I'm keen to know if you know of a solution to a problem we current face, Reflection X version 8 doesn't not manage password accounts in the sense that scheduling a password change for user's is not doable as we use HPux.
Therefore creating specific groups and creating specific limitations on users privileges is not achievable.
Is there a patch or a method that anyone may u know of to achieve unique accounts that have unique privileges?
So that we can allocate groups within our organization instead of have a super user.
I truely appreciate your effort and time and would really appreciate any feed back on this matter.
Thanks

Re: Reflection x password management
How about setting up restricted SAM (sam -r). This allows a user access to a subset (defined by you) of SAM's functionality. You could restrict it to user management. Hope this helps.

Re: Reflection x password management
Hi Allan,
what kind of privileges do you want to assign to the specific group of users?
Not sure if you considered sudo
http://www.courtesan.com/sudo
or you can install the binaries in swinstall format from
http://hpux.ee.ualberta.ca/hppd/hpux/Sysadmin/sudo-1.6.2b1
Once you install sudo, you can allow users to run certain commands as root or as other users. And the users can only run the commands specified by you in the config file.
-HTH
