Reg Cell manager / SME Server migration
Hi guys ,
We have a SME server which is also my cell manager for DP .
config as follows :
win2003...1 gb ram .
we are upgrading the box to win2003 4 gb RAM ..
My queries are follows ;
1] I Will have to install command view EVA of the same version right
2] DP also of the same verison.
3] RSM too.
4] what abt datafiles of DP ?? do i need to copy the same too ??
5] The licenses of EVA4k for storage/BC would be needed .
6] I will have to zone the same server with SAN switch also.
7] Since all EVA4k /BC licenses are binded with IP , i will hve to chnage the same too.

Re: Reg Cell manager / SME Server migration
Sounds like a lease refresh type situation.
Sounds like your storage controller is being replaced that box HP ships with EVA.
If possible, I'd build the new box with the same SAN access and migrate in a deliberate fashion with both boxes running for a while.
Your HP rep might be able to provide a migration plan that is more specific.
HP should be able to provide you with new licenses to insure a smooth transition.

Re: Reg Cell manager / SME Server migration
Hi Steven ,
Sounds like your storage controller is being replaced that box HP ships with EVA.
Ohh you mean to say that my storage controller would also be replaced ??
We are planning to install HBA card on new high end server and then install all the necessary softwares of the same existing one.
Agreed HP rep would be the ideal guy.
