Hope you all are doing well ,and good in health.
Here is my question:
We are having hp-ux 11i B11.11 server and Tivoli Monitoring software installed.
We are getting file system alerts , but found we are not getting CPU alerts when it was become 100% full. (checked with sar)
We contacted Tivoli team for this and they told that Tivoli required Java patches need to be installed for that.
the link & the patches :
http://www.hp.com/products1/unix/java/patches/g-11.11-1.3-1111.0406.html
PHKL_25842
PHCO_29960
PHKL_32457
-----------------
The current system patch level is this:
$ model
9000/800/N4000-55
$ swlist -l bundle | grep -i patch
BUNDLE B.11.11 Patch Bundle
BUNDLE11i B.11.11.0102.2 Required Patch Bundle for HP-UX 11i, February 2001
GOLDAPPS11i B.11.11.0406.5 Gold Applications Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, June 2004
GOLDBASE11i B.11.11.0406.5 Gold Base Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, June 2004
HWEnable11i B.11.11.0406.4 Hardware Enablement Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, June 2004
---------------------------------------------
i.e June 2004 Gold Bundle.
Question:
1. Can I install Latest Patch Bundle , as getting the downtime. So Which one, Dec 2004 or June 2005 . ?
2. Does this bundle covers the above pathes , or still needs to install ?
3. Does new patch bundle will impact any thing?
Thanks all,
veri.

Re: Regarding Patch bundle installation !
1. You should install it. It's June 2005.
http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/releaseIndexPage.do?BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|patch.breadcrumb.bundle|
2. Click the Quality pack for 11.11 and you'll see it's content and what patches it has in it.
3. Depends on your system and hardware. The only way to check it, it to install. I didn't have problems with it.

Re: Regarding Patch bundle installation !
you may not find these exact patches there, probably there are patches that superseed them, so check in the patch database what are the newest patches and check if they exist in the quality pack.

Re: Regarding Patch bundle installation !
I'd install the June 2005 QPK along with the last available HWE bundle.
You can select these for download from the Patch Database. At that time, you can view the contents of the bundle and ascertain the individual patch contents. If there are additional patches that you want to include, add them to your selected download list too. In this fashion, you will setup a single depot for installation of everything you want in one pass. The advantage, of course, is that the REQUIRED reboot will occur once.
Of course, be sure to pay attention to patches with special installation instructions and/or warnings.
Regards!

Re: Regarding Patch bundle installation !
You will really get both bundles by choosing either for download in this case.

SolutionSystem will put everything into a single bundle after eliminating the duplicates and superseeded patches as far as I know. So you will end up downloading one big patch bundle.

Re: Regarding Patch bundle installation !
Patches with warnings are listed at the top of the list to draw your attention to them!
You should read the notes associated with at least these and decide whether you want to exclude them from your installation or not based on your environment.
In some cases, another "recommended" patch (replacement) will be automatically offered. You can then decide whether or not you want to include that in your download. Usually you will want to take the recommendation.
Regards!
