Re: regarding UMA utility

Hi,
tere no direct patch for the uma utility, since it is delivered as a part of OB/DP installation.

But you can find it in the bundle of the MA packet, if it is delivered patched.

You shuold check in the DP/OB patch section download.

But, for clarification, in what sense are stats wrong ?

The command stats should show the slot/drive status, togheter eith cartdrige status. I fsome are missing, i suggest to have a check at the library, maybe a good cycle of recalibration will do the work.

All the times i had problem with uma/mc was a fault of the library.

Re: regarding UMA utility

Uma is part of OmniBack and therefore any problems that are software related will be included in OB patches.

I've never seen any problem relating to UMA. If there is a timeout or error messages being displayed, these will be from your tape library.

Re: regarding UMA utility

I forgot to mention, that you can get the OB patches from here:

http://support.openview.hp.com/cpe/patches/ob/ob.jsp

As I stated before you have a 99.999% chance that your problem will be from within your tape library and it's communication.

Re: regarding UMA utility

Hi,
i forgot: if you want to test just the new UMA, without updating the client, you can extract it from the file packet.Z in the proper directory, using uncompress packet.Z .

For the full path, you can look for something like:

/opt/omni/databases/vendor/ma/hp/s800/hp-ux-1020/A.04.10/
packet.Z
