Remote Access Option

Hello,

I would like to seek advise on options to use for system-wide remote access.

The system consists of:
1) Cisco Routr
2) HP L server with db installed
3) NT4 server as primary domain controller (going to win2k).

At which point and which option does anyone have experience and idea, please comment.

All help are appreciated.

Re: Remote Access Option

Virtual Private Network (VPN) is our company's primary method to remotely connect into our internal network.

The user can be connected to their local ISP and can establish a VPN session and it will be as if they were connected locally.

Is this what you are asking for?

Re: Remote Access Option

Dialin to shiva router with Win access.

Dialin to HP serial controller hooked to the serial ports of HP machines. Does not work into Win servers.

VPN into internet.

Re: Remote Access Option

One good option for remote access is to use Secure Shell. If your remote users have access to the Internet they can Secure Shell into your local network and thus obtain a more secure remote access. Used in conjunction with a VPN this would be extremely secure. However, it does not require the use of VPN and gives you an encrypted connection over the public Internet.

Good luck.
