remote printer alias name limit?

i was trying to add a remote printer with the name of XX-XX-XX-XXXX, but sam wouldn't take it. Is there a limit to the remote printer alias name?

what is the syntax for adding a remote printer? can I get a longer name?

I am not sure to have some limits like that... can you use this command line to add a remote printer and let us know:

lpshut
lpadmin -p -v/dev/null -mrmodel -orm -orp -ocmrcmodel -osmrsmodel -ob3
lpsched
enable
accept

Printer name has to be unique and can be up to 14 alphanumeric characters and underscores.
