remote printer deskjet 1220c
Situation:
deskjet 1220c on print server (product 'Axis 5550'; some embedded linux/samba)
access from HP-UX 11v1; MTOE
Printer setup with an install-script provided by Axis worked perfectly fine.
Printer is listed in SAM; enabled and idle
X print server configured and running
Printing:
lp –d works fine
Printing of various text from X applications under CDE, e.g. manpage viewer, works fine as well.
Problem:
When trying to print graphical output (e.g. out of Netscape browser or output of a GIS-application) I get only useless characters or the underlying (html, xml) code.
When configuring I assigned /usr/lib/lp/model/deskjet1200C as most similar driver.
Alternatively I tried PCL2, dumb, PCL1, postscript, deskjet with no better or worse results.
Question:
- Anyone who has experience with dj1220c as remote printer?
- Any suggestions how to narrow in the problem further.
- Any comments on trying to use a business inkjet 1200 instead
Any advice appreciated
many thanks in advance
Georg

Re: remote printer deskjet 1220c
Used an other, truely postscript-capable printer together with the postscript interface script
