HPUX 11.11 has configured 10 remote printers.
The 10 printers are all connect with windows2003.
Does anyone has the experiecne in which situation the "lpstat -t" will show "printer is down" ? From my example, sometimes only 2-3 printer will show it. I need to enable the printer to use it.
Thanks.

Re: Remote printer is down
This is why it is recommended to put printers directly onto the network (ideally with HP LAN cards) and talk directly to the printers without a Windows server.

Solutionyes i have faced this problem in my environment also, incase if u got solution let me to know reduce this problem, anyhow here i telling my solution
reason might be:
1) printer reset/restart/printer hardware
2)paper out condition
3) n/w connectivity problem
4) if u network interface card of printer or device on which through printer connecting to n/w
solution:
1) enable matually by enable command or SAM
2) make the script to restart lpd service time period (like each and every 5 minitues it should restat), it will resolve your's temparary or frequently disable problem)
Note: it will not distrup incase it is running while restarting the lpd services)
3)tell me if u have any idea to resolve
