removing boot password

we are having an issue in getting some servers to boot due to emc cache problem. When trying to get to -isl, we are prompted for a "boot password". how do we work around/remove this password?

thanks

Re: removing boot password

Shalom,

You have to log on some way and clear the password. If you don't have it you are in a bind and may need a system engineer.

Re: removing boot password

thanks, we ended up calling this in for support and are working with HP directly.

Again, thanks for the reply.

Re: removing boot password

I'm sure this can be set at the command line, but the only place I know of for this is:

SAM -> Auditing & Security -> System Security Policies -> General User Account Policies

And on that screen is a check box to "Require Login Upon Boot To Single-user State"

I don't know of any other passwords that would be required, especially for ISL.

Re: removing boot password

We managed to get in with a "boot" cd and then we were able to manipulate the bootauth file.
