remshd: Login incorrect
Does anyone know why this error appears,
# remsh testsvr1 -l root -n /usr/sbin/cmviewcl
remshd: Login incorrect.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Robs

Re: remshd: Login incorrect
Verify if your .rhosts file in the remote server testsvr1 is configured properly i.e. to allow root access from your local host.
regards!

Re: remshd: Login incorrect
on local machine:
1. Root $HOME/.rhosts
testsvr1 root
2. Permission with 644 and root:sys ownership
on testsvr1 machine:
1. Root $HOME/.rhosts
2. Permission with 644 and root:sys ownership

Re: remshd: Login incorrect
After doing all above entries in .rhosts and /etc/hosts.equiv , you can check the trust between the servers using..
#rlogin restsvr1 -l root
If you are able to logged in without prompting for password then you are done !!!
If the password is prompted then, remsh command also wont work.
With Regards,
Siva.

Re: remshd: Login incorrect
That being that the passwords for root differ between the two machines.
Best of luck.
