Hi Laurent:

I am still of the opinion that the ITRC SEARCH is not totally working correctly. Another example is high-lighted by the failure of three (3) of us to find a reference to a thread other than by brute force. Can you please suggest that your developers assess the engine's capabilities based on keywords and key-phrases in this thread:

The forum still remains to be very sluggish, almost 20-30 second refresh times at some points today.

i am fairly new to the forum, im having problems with the same question by the same person showing up twice, then when i go back to one of them later non of the response are listed under that

these should be appended to the end of the original, if more than one shows up.

I had a horrible time getting in today. Most of the time, I would get the "page not found" errors, but I would occasionally get a SSI error. Bottom line is that I could not get in for about 5 hours. I tried to go to the hp home and work my way through, but that also failed. I finally, on a whim, went to my profile page and linked in. For some reason, this worked. Once in, no problems moving around.

I would add a ditto to Mark Vollmer's posting; I had exactly the same experience and the same resolution.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

seemed like this sever was just down i could go any where in hp except the forum, however i could search the forum, but then could not look at the links it found this was up until approx 15min ago.

I alos got the "page not found" errors and could not find server. It took me over 5 hours to finally get in here, too.

Hi Laurent,
Like the previouses, I have been struggling to get connected for now a week, I usually succeed when its time to leave, like today but I was about to send a mail to you because I was wondering If I were the only one could not get connected (Ive been trying since friday) and was I to search for proxies problem on my site...

Two problems:
- SSI errors but only when I try to consult information about forum users.
- We have two users at office, one associated with our support and one without support. If I login with one of them, then I do a logout, I login with the other and I do a post in the forum, the post is done by the first.

I just received these two errors a short time ago. The first while refreshing my screen and the second trying to read these issues:

Error processing SSI file '/cm/FamilyHomeContent/1,1152,LoggedIn!117,00.html'

HTTP 404 Not Found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable

Just one thing ( i do not know, whether you got the mail or not ).
I was not able to access the forum pages all day on May 8th .
This morning ( May 9th ) everything looks ok again. Are there any explanations ?

Hi all,

thanks again for making us aware of any issues you encountered. As you noticed, the forums remained unavailable for several hours on the 8th of May, and things came back to normal after our engineers corrected some servers settings. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this downtime may have caused you.

Our engineers have been working on improving the forums performance for the past weeks, and some improvements were applied to the forums in order to get rid of the intermittent SSI and http404 errors. I would appreciate if you could carry on reporting issues via this thread, as it has been a very good way for us to monitor forums problems and to measure the efficiency of fixes applied. When reporting any event, please record the exact time when it occurred.

Hi Laurent:

I'd like to suggest that whenever there are planned outages (and I assume from your post that yesterday's was one), that it would be very helpful if clicking on the Forum link would display a page like "...we regret that this service is temporarily unavailable...".

This kind of offering seems to be provided when the Maintenance and Support areas (or its subsets) are unavailable.

Seeing a specific message of this kind rather than wondering if one's proxy server, ISP, etc. is misbehaving would be a welcome improvement. Thanks!

Hi Jim,

Unfortunately, yesterdays forums downtime wasn't planned, and the root cause for the issue took some time to be identified and fixed.
Please stay assured that I will do my best to proactively inform you whenever planned downtime would have to occur.
I will provide your feedback to our engineers, so that an explanation screen be displayed in case any unexpected downtime is identified, thus avoiding error messages.

While not a technical problem, my biggest issue is the use of "low-contrast" colors in the forums ( such a bluegray font on gray background). I have cataracts which make reading the forums in their current form difficult
