Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]
I've seen an occasional SSI error the last 24-hours or so. More importantly I've seen several partial pages retruned when I click a thread on the FamilyHome page to read it. Refreshing fixes the problem. Regards!

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]
There has been a incredible improvement in the forum over the last month. It has become a pleasure to visit it. I used to dread the experience, and only use it if I had a problem. Keep up the good work!!!
One question - have you decided how to handle not assigning points for "chats" (non-technical threads) without offending the responders?

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]
And here's a real sore spot: Why are the forums so fscking slow? Shouldn't HP's customer-facing systems run really fast so we continue to believe that HP is the best choice over Sun and IBM? Arghhhh!!!

Getting tired or not founds and real slow response.
How the heck are we to gain points anyway since it is such a pain to get here?

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]
I've been getting lot's of 404's too, today.
I am *still* seeing occasional pages delivered incompletly. For instance, I'll get a family-home page for HP-UX but it will not have a full page of threads (low count) *and* it will be missing the "next page" bar, top read solutions and useful links information at the botton -- a real tip-off! This anomoly started about June 7 as you can note from my post on that date, above.
Lastly, while there are periods when response-time is 'OK' there are other times when it is atrocious. Neither extreme seems to correlate to any particular time of day nor to any apparent activity as measured by new postings.
Regards!

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]
Is this a user generated thing, or is the forum server hiccuping?
If it's a user, then how about a way for the forum server to automatically remove the duplicate.

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]
The duplicate was a result of an error while submit, there are 2 alternatives after:
1) Dont bother and find a way to return to the forum...
2) Like the case above: Im still in the reply to message page, and can still see my comments, so you click again on submit and this it goes without an Error message...
Then once in the forum you realize the first once although the Error message appeared it was posted.
You may want to know why if I knew this I sent it twice, well the last reply with this message (was it 404? Dont remember... sorry) it was not posted... Confusing isnt it?
All the best

Re: Report Forums issues! [2/2]
The only problems I run into are the informous 404 HTTP - not found errors, although as of the 1/6/01 they haven't been anything like as frequent!
