resmon
Hi
A process /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/p_client is using 40%-70% of the CPU on L1000 running HPUX 11.00.
what this process is for and is this normal for this process to use that much CPU. What effect it will have on system if it is stopped.

Re: resmon
Since it looks like nobody is gonna take a stab at this..here goes.
I believe resmon is part of Event Monitoring System software that you have loaded on your system. Now 40-70% utilization is way, way too high for this. I have this on my servers and it takes very little.
I have included a thread that may give you some insight, it covered a couple issues on this. ..and would encourage you to do a SEARCH on resmon for more info that may help ..

Re: resmon
Rita is correct. It is part of the Event Monitoring Service. A good place to start for information on what it is, and how it works is:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B6191-90022/B6191-90022.html
Check within SAM as well. You should see a way to control what you're monitoring under the "Resource Management" section.

Re: resmon
The base EMS is NOT easily controlled through SAM. The program you want to run to configure EMS is /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig
This will start the EMS configuration program and you can customize EMS to monitor only what you want and you can also stop and start EMS from here as well.
