Resourse allocation

Using vparmodify we can manage resourse allocation. Is WLM and gWLM is required just for easy management.Please explain

Hi, those products are used when you want to build some logic as to how are the resources allocated/deallocated for specific systems, according to application needs. For example you have an application and during high peaks/loads, when you need performance you can configure WLM/gWLM such that the resources are automatically exchanged between vPars.

But for basic resource allocation, you can script your 'vparmodify' command. (For example in our environment, vparmodify is run in crontab every night to assign CPU's for different vPars, according to their needs).
