Restart 11.23 Installation Using Second Disc?
Last night I had started an installation of HP-UX 11.23 on an rx7620. It got late and I left the office before I had a chance to swap the first DVD for the second one. Well a co-worker or one of our "data center ghosts" must have come in and reset the box while the console was at the prompt asking for the second disk.
Within the console logs there are lots of retry messages and in the end a big failure message printed just before the reset of the server.
My question is, can I restart the installation from this point or must I start from the first DVD all over again?
Thanks and Regards,
Bob

Re: Restart 11.23 Installation Using Second Disc?
If doing an update ( not that I would do an update )there is an option listed about update-ux with a second depot name to continue from there.
Starting over is the best bet. Only takes about 2 hours anyway.

Re: Restart 11.23 Installation Using Second Disc?
This was a cold install. Yes, its most likely easier to just start over, but was curious if this was a possibility or not.
thanks for the reply.
