Restarting EMS clients

I'm about to install a patch which will require me to restart the EMS clients afterwards. Can anyone tell me how to best do this ?

Patch is PHSS_28844 and the special instructions give the above instruction to restart EMS clients - but how ??

# /sbin/init.d/emsa stop
# /sbin/init.d/emsa start

/sbin/init.d/emsa stop
/sbin/init.d/ems stop
/sbin/init.d/ems start
/sbin/init.d/emsa start

Does EMS provide start and stop functionality?
If I am not mistaken, ems start at boot time and you must reboot server to start the EMS services.

Hi Simon,

I would use:

/etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig

And then choose option K for kill and then E for enable.

Restarting the EMS Client needs to be done depending on the client. There are many EMS clients, the client that comes along with the product is the EMS GUI. Just come out of the GUI and launch it again via SAM, if you are already in the GUI. If you are using any other EMS client, just come out of it and restart it again.

EMS Clients are different from EMS monitors.

The scripts that are in /sbin/init.d are *NOT* for starting and stopping the ems as is documented in the script itself.
