Restore file from golden image

Hi All,

I have a golden image "archive.gz". I will be restoring it on a server after sometime.

Wanted to know following:
1. How can we extract single file/dir from this .gz file if we need to?
2. Is it possible to add any file to this image before restoring it?

2. No, you can't modify the image. If you found a way to do so, it probably would stop being useful as a Golden image. Ignite lays out the files it needs in a particular way.
