Restore K-Class ignite image onto vPar?

Wonder if anyone can help? I have a large number of K and N class machines and I want to migrate them all to PA-RISC vPars. Is there anything I can do to put their ignite images directly onto the vPars without having to go through a "staging" server (we have one N class)?
I've tried installing drivers to the K, imaging and restoring, adding a depot to the ignite config and installing the drivers and vpar software post-ignite, all to no avail.
Any ideas?

What version of OS ?

If at least 11.11 then I would have to say that the supporing platforms, K --> vPar, are just to disparaging.

My suggestion would be to cold install at least 11.11 into the vPar. Tar up all the needed files, /etc/hosts, passwd entries, /home, etc.., and install into the new vPar. Then migrate your data..

I have made a script and created/duplicated systems this way when migrating to new HW with little issue, except in the case where I forgot something.

Hi Andy:

I think that you are at a dead end with the K-class servers. For starters, nothing beyond 11.11 runs on a K-class, of course. Ignite cloning from a K-class to a N-class with Ignite several versions ago failed for me in a test scenario.

Actually, taking the 11.11 ignite image from the K, restoring it to the N and then installing the SCSI drivers and vPar/Icod etc stuff does work. I can then image the N Class and restore that to the vPar.
It's just a bit of a pain to have to do it that way.
