SolutionAs far as I know, until now Ignite/UX didnt cover to restore the mirror, unless you did some perform something on the script before you take the make_tape_recovery backup.
Check the url below (docID : KBQA00000588) about 'How to recover a mirrored root volume with make_tape_recovery' for your reference in the future to create Ignite backup that can recover mirrored root disk :
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000080074629
In your case, you need to re-mirror again the primary boot disk into the secondary boot disk (mirror disk) by yourself (either manually or by using the script).
Check the url below (docID : LVMKBRC00005103) about 'How to create a Mirrored Boot Disk on PA-RISC Systems - Cookbook' for your reference :
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000080811535
Hope this information can help you.
Cheers,
AW

Re: restore to mirror
make_tape_recovery backs up mirror configuration, codewords for mirror/ux and if booted to a system with enough disk space with the same device path, will restore mirrored.
If restoring to a system with different disk configuration, you may have to re-mirror it.

Re: restore to mirror
check wich disk you can use in my example i used c2t2d0
pvcreate â f â B /dev/rdsk/c2t2d0
vgextend /dev/vg00 /dev/dsk/c2t2d0
mkboot /dev/rdsk/c2t2d0
mkboot â l
mkboot â a â hp-ux â lq (;0)/stand/vmunixâ /dev/rdsk/c2t2d0
for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
do
lvextend â m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol$i
done
Check if the BDRA is correct.
/usr/sbin/lvlnboot -R /dev/vg00
Verify that the mirrors were properly created.
lvlnboot -v /dev/vg00
The output of this command is shown in a display like the following:
Boot Definitions for Volume Group /dev/vg00:
Boot Definitions for Volume Group /dev/vg00:

/dev/dsk/c2t2d0 (1/0/1/0/0/1/1.6.0) -- Boot Disk
Boot: lvol1 on: /dev/dsk/c0t6d0
/dev/dsk/c2t2d0
Root: lvol3 on: /dev/dsk/c0t6d0
/dev/dsk/c2t2d0
Swap: lvol2 on: /dev/dsk/c0t6d0
/dev/dsk/c2t2d0
Dump: lvol2 on: /dev/dsk/c0t6d0, 0
