restoring HP-UX 10.20 whole-disk from make_recovery tape

I have an HP9000/715 running HP-UX 10.20. The hard disk (1GB) crashed and was replaced with a larger disk (2GB). I have a system backup created with make_recovery, but it restores 1GB. Can I increase this to 2GB without having to reinstall HP-UX from the original CD. It is a whole-disk configuration, not LVM.
I know I need to upgrade and it's in work. Until then, I need this system functional.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Kristi

Re: restoring HP-UX 10.20 whole-disk from make_recovery tape

You can restore from the tape and it will use whatever disk is available and whatever configuration you choose.

Just put the tape in the drive, boot from it, interact with the installation if you want to make sure that you have the correct disk selected.

Ignite should work like a charm.

using the make_recovery tape, you can either let it continue without interruption or interrupt it and change the file system allocations

sounds like it would be best to increase some allocations now

Re: restoring HP-UX 10.20 whole-disk from make_recovery tape

Hi Kristi:

You want to choose the Advanced Installation tab on the Ignite menu. This will offer you the ability to resize your filesystems while restoring your original software configuration (patches, etc.).

Regards!

Thanks for the help. After some investigation I found the new hard disk is a 1GB not 2GB . The recovery tape installed just as it should have.
