Re: restoring ignite to other hardware

Hi Hermant:

if you have done a "make_tape_recovery" it will not work you. You need a Golden Image:

Re: restoring ignite to other hardware

When the ignite restore asks, do the interactive restore. This will allow you to restore to different equipment.

At the basic screen, you select the additional butoon - that drops you to a decondary menu where you can set clone to different hardware equal to true

That should allow you to do what you want.

Re: restoring ignite to other hardware

Hi,

Thanks to all of you, but a small query i got the option to restore the image to new hardware in basic tab in Install new client windows.

But this will work if my (new hardware) i.e. new client is up & running the os, but if i have new hardware in which no os has been installed then how can i go for it.

How can i boot the client using lan boot and ask the ignite server for the recovery image i want.

Please help.
