Retrieving License Codes from sw

How do you retrieve license keyes from already installed sw on a HP-UX 11.0.

This is so I can ensure I have all the license keyes & sw that I should have.

The servers in question have been built by another area of my company & I need to ensure that they haven't duplicated any licenses...

I have looked & have been unsuccessful, so any help would be gratefully received.

Hi,

Check the file /var/adm/sw/.codewords - This will have all the licensing codewords for installed softwares.

The license codes are usually tied to the ID number of the computer so the codes can't be used on another machine. There is no method to extract the codes as they are enabling strings and don't need to be stored. Instead. a flag is set that the application has been unlocked when the license code is entered.

it will contain license info

HI,

If they're FLEXlm licenses - they'll be in license.dat in the /usr/local/flexlm dir I believe.

If they're swinstall codeworded then they'll be in
/var/adm/sw/.codewords
