Rlogin started askin password

I am working on 6 HP-9000 800 series machines. I use rlogin often but suddenly on of th machines keeps on asking for password. I checked the .rhosts and hosts.equiv files and they seem to intact and all hosts and allowed user names are listed.

Any changes in you name-resolution.

Check nsswitch.conf, resolv.conf - any changes in your DNS-servers database ?

Are you using Fully qualified domain names in .rhosts hosts.equiv etc.

I checked all no change is made.

Hi,

rlogin, supply the password then use 'last -R' to check how that server resolves the address that you came from.

Compare this with what you have in .rhosts etc.

Yilah,

Check your .rhosts and if there is not + included then include it and try rlogin and you will not be asked for a password.
