Re: Root disk change

The root disk is 9GB, i want to replace it with new 36GB. I want to copy all files from the root disk and keep the configuration of the other two mounted disks.

Re: Root disk change

The only way to replace a root disk with a larger size one is to use HP's Ignite software to backup to tape or ignite server via the network, then replace the disk, and boot from the ignite backup and it will recover your vg00 to the new disk.

Re: Root disk change

Hi,

I think that make_tape_recovery will work for you. Download the latest version from

http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/download.html

and after installation launch

make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00

After disk replacement you can restore by booting from tape created from make_tape_recovery.

I hope this helps you.

Best regards,

Re: Root disk change

www.docs.hp.com and search for ignite.

Ignite is the standard procedure for a vg00 disk replacement, its reliable, quick and easy.
