when i try to login to my 11.0 system i get login incorrect for root even if i give correct passwd. Fortunately i can rlogin to the system from other system (.rhosts) but even if i remove the encrypted passwd from the passwd file, when i login as root the moment i type root and enter it says login incorrect. any one seen this before?
Thanks
Joe

						Hi Joe:
You should be albel to login from the console or login as a non-root account and 'su' to root.
Look for '/etc/securetty'. If present, logins are allowed for root only using the devices listed in the file --- "console" should be one of them. This is documented in the 'login' manpages.
Regards!
