Re: Root Partition 95% full
Hi all
The problem is solved. I was mounting /ing_users. The contetns were in primary dir of /ing_users. As i was mounting another volume on /ing_users. I was not able to see those contents. So unmounted /ing_users & removed all contents. Now / is 50 %.
Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Re: Root Partition 95% full
Look, your first 'du' report looked nothing like this 2nd 'du' report. The items or all different, the sizes are all different.
YOu mention "this is the production machine" and lsof.
Follow this procedure on your dev box
a) swremove
b) File > search
c) enter vxvm
d) remove
e) reboot if asked.
As for you second box, run this command and paste
quot /
2nd procedure
cd /
touch sameer_file (* create a file *)
find / -newer afile
You may have to play around with the find command. This should give you a report of files still being written too from open or runaway processes.
This is the lsof procedure above have been trying to use.
good luck
