We just got a hp9000/350/1
with 10.20 on it. We trying to upgrade to 11.0
and having a error "WARN80F5" Failed to Initialize. Tryed 10.20 and 11.0 cd's got same error. Need to get into OS or how to boot in single mode to change a root password. Please help we stuck with it.

when you need boot to single user mode
you can use boot to interact with IPL after restart and then
ISL> hpux -is boot

to get into single user mode interrupt the boot sequence by pressing any key within 10 seconds.
Now type: BOOT PRI
and reply to the answer INTERACT WITH IPL with YES.
Machine comes now up to ISL mode.
At ISL mode (ISL>) type: hpux -is
this will boot into single user mode.
You will get a root prompt from which you can change the root password with:
/sbin/passwd root
