rp4440 & 11iv2: Applicable driver(s) for A7163BR DVD-ROM drive
The "sdisk" driver module is enabled with the kernel and the O/S still can't detect the DVD drive. Are there other kernel modules that should be enabled?
One device comes up as UNKNOWN & UNCLAIMED.
HW sppt will attempt an internal backplane swap for now.
Output of ioscan -fn:

Re: rp4440 & 11iv2: Applicable driver(s) for A7163BR DVD-ROM drive
It should look like this for the internal DVD drive:
sideba 0 0/0/3/0 side_ba CLAIMED INTERFACE CMD IDE control
ler
ext_bus 0 0/0/3/0.0 side CLAIMED INTERFACE IDE Primary Cha
nnel
target 0 0/0/3/0.0.0 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
disk 0 0/0/3/0.0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE TEAC DV-28E-
N
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0
target 1 0/0/3/0.0.7 tgt CLAIMED DEVICE
ctl 0 0/0/3/0.0.7.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE Initiator
/dev/rscsi/c0t7d0
The controller is showing, but the drive isn't. Did you check the cable and try another drive? IMHO the system board is unlikely bad.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Regarding this line:
unknown -1 0/4/2/0 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN PCI SimpleComm (114f0058)
This is slot 4. What card is installed?
This card has no driver.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
