Re: rp7410

My first thought is to move the DVD to a SCSI bus that is assigned to the second npar.

or

re-assign the DVD from the 1st to the 2nd.

I go with Tim on the first one:

Or you could install hp-ux using and ignite server, you install though the network and don't need to use a Dvd, here is and example:

Windows?, no thanks

Re: rp7410

From the users manual:

"A CD/DVD-ROM drive or DAT drive connects to cell 1 through the core I/O card for cell 1,
thus it can be accessed through the cell 1 nPartition only"

http://docs.hp.com/en/A6752-96008/A6752-96008.pdf - page 32

Use the ignite server!

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rp7410

If the DVD is an internal drive it is dedicated to cell 1 and you can't move it.
If it is external you can just swing the SCSI cable over to the core I/O LVD port on cell 0.

Do you have another system with a DVD drive that you can borrow from?

If none of these are possible then Ignite from an Ignite server is the way to go.
