RP8400 Ignite recovery to partition 0
We are trying to do a test for Disaster recovery and want to use an ignite tape from another system to restore on partition 0 of a RP8400. While doing this it gives an error the disk at "PATH" is prevented from being configured by the HIDE_BOOT_DISK option and/or the _hp_hide_other_disk config file variable. If I try to restore over the top of this will I destroy both my existing partitions? Can I just use an alternate drive to do the recovery test? What are the ramifications of this?

Re: RP8400 Ignite recovery to partition 0
On a standard Ignite recovery with an Ignite tape or archive created for vg00 only.
It will install overwrite vg00 without touching any data on other volume groups.
I did not play with the options you mention to accomplish that and have done at least a dozen Ignite Recovery test runs, plus a few golden image create/installs.

Re: RP8400 Ignite recovery to partition 0
Remember this is an RP8400 that is hard partitioned. We do not want to negatively impact the server on partition 1, but we want to overwrite the information on partition 0.
