RP8400 NPAR question

Hello,
I have a RP8400 that I am rebuilding into 2 Npars. Maybee it doesnt make much difference in this case, but I thought I would ask. I was wondering as far as performance and redundancy goes if this is a half/half split what is the best way to do this?.
IE Cell 0,1 and Cell 2,3
OR Cell 0,2 and Cell 1,3

Cell boards are all the same and I have plenty of fiber cards.

Cheers,
Jeff

Re: RP8400 NPAR question

Jeff

Cell 0,2 and Cell 1,3 is the best way per HP docs.

it has to do with howe the cells are connected to the SBA.

The nPar document at www.docs.hp.com can give you specifics.

Re: RP8400 NPAR question

Hi Jeff,

A 0/2 and 1/3 split is best because 0 & 2 are on the same crossbar connection as are 1 & 3.
You'll get faster performance if you don't have to access the crossbar.

HTH,
Jeff
