RPC timed out

I keep getting RPC timed out messages to a host that is no longer active. I removed the host in question from the /etc/hosts file, but am still getting it. Any ideas how to stop the messages? This is HPUX 11.11. thanks

Seems you have NFS mount point .

do

/sbin/init.d/nfs.client stop
