RPC timeout issues
We have a L class server running HPUX 11.11. After our yearly OS patching (we put 120 CSS patches recommended by HP) the application( Remedy) started giving intermittent RPC timeouts. Users are not able to run reports. These patches have been installed in all out other servers without any issues. Is there any kernel paramters or files which sets the RPC timeout values. Please let me know
Thanks

Re: RPC timeout issues
Those messages would be very helpful in diagnosing the problem.
It would appear that the patches caused this issue, but we can not be sure.
swverify \*
the above command will let you know if there was a patch installation problem. If the patch set worked on all other servers, it should have worked here.
There could also be a communications problem unrelated to the patches between the client and the server. syslog error data would be useful in figuring this out.

Re: RPC timeout issues
Could be that you have something starting up prematurely, and adding the patches pointed out a problem.
rpcinfo -p host is useful to see what is going on.
