We're having a problem with new HPUX 11i (TCOE and MTOE) clean installations from the June 2002 install media.
The machine boots up fine, except for this:
Start RPC daemon if needed
Output from "/sbin/rc2.d/S590Rpcd start":
----------------------------
starting the DCE RPC Daemon
/opt/dce/sbin/rpcd
EXIT CODE: 1
"/sbin/rc2.d/S590Rpcd start" FAILED
If I run /opt/dce/sbin/rpcd directly, it just returns, and rpcd isn't running.
If I run /opt/dce/sbin/rpcd -f I get, of all things:
Segmentation fault (core dump)
Which leaves a core in /var/opt/dce/dced/
When run without the -f option it will throw a line into /var/opt/dce/svc/error.log:
2003-01-07-23:19:00.757+00:00I----- dced ERROR dhd general main.c 1326 0x79f805d8 waitpid() return status 11 (for pid 12782), core dumped
I'm at a complete loss. Any helps/hinst/suggestions would be really appreciated.
Dan

Solution
is /var an HFS file system with block size of 65536 or more ?
If the answers yes then this is a bug : JAGae41968
there is a fix due out : the next DCE patch out this month or drop me an email or contact your local HP support for the fixed libdce.2 binary.
