rpcd... what is

I want to set START_RPCD=0 in /etc/rc.config.d/Rpcd file.

This will make 'rpcd' daemon not start in next reboot.

I want to remove it due to security reasons (UDP portmap) but I'm not sure.

What parts of system will be damaged or won't run ?

P.D: I don't know DCE operation

Re: rpcd... what is

SDUX is the main process you are likely to catch using rpcd, thought the ITO/NNM apps seems to need it too, rpcd aka dced is also important wrt DCE based applications and DCE cells but I suspect you won't be using these in your enviroment ...

Just take a little look at "man rcpd".
